According to the Intel X550 datasheet (1), the controller supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). It's also added as a key feature on the Intel's X550 Product Brief (2). However, it seems that 802.3az support has been silently dropped from the Intel X550-T1/T2 product brief (2) even if a product guide from Lenovo clearly mark this feature as supported. This feature is important for EE datacenters, especially for power-hungry 10GBase-T connectivity. We tried to get EEE working on X550-T1/T2 CNA on various switches without success. It seems this features is disabled or broken. PROSet 21.1 does not include any settings related to EEE.
Can you please give us the current status of 802.3az (EEE) on Intel's X550-T1/T2 CNA?
PS : Additionally, do you have an ETA for NBase-T support on these NICs? According to the product brief, this feature is marked as "to be enabled in a post-launch firmware release".

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question, if not please correct me.
I am using an Intel I210 card on my linux PC. I was trying to generate a clock output on one of the SDP pins, so I followed the section-7.8.3.3.3 in Intel-i210 data sheet.
According to Time Sync Interrupt Cause Register(TSICR) description, we can get interrupts to driver for "every output clock half-cycle on SDP pin". So I configured the registers accordingly from the "igb_avb driver" (few changes to original driver in Open-AVB).
The problem is, I am not getting those clock interrupts. Basically what I was looking for is, to get periodic interrupts from the SDP clock to igb_avb driver, to perform some tasks.
Have someone tried this before ?
Registers I configured (for CLK1 on SDP1) are:
IMS - set Time sync interrupts
TSIM - enable interrupt for Target Time1(TT1)
TSSDP - enable SDP1 and assign CLK1
TSAUXC - enable CLK1
CTRL - set SDP as output
FREQOUT - set clock half-cycle
Please let me know if any more information is required.
Thanks.
Hi,
We're developping software that runs under Windows Embbeded Standard and hardware using Intel I210 controler.
We require low-level access driver to be able to control TX timestamps or IPG in order to comply with real-time video delivery requirements.
Is I210 driver source code available for Windows Systems?
Thanks,
AdolfoMV.
Hello, there.
This morning I upgraded my fully functionnal Windows 8.1 Enterprise installation to Windows 10 Technical Preview. Before that, I downloaded the Intel Network Adapter Driver from this website, version 20.1, for Windows 10 64 bits. After the driver installation, I had the VLANs tab in the network card properties. However, i'm unable to create a VLAN. The network card is automatically disabled then I receive an error message saying this (translated from french):
One or more vlans could not be created. Please check the adapter status and try again.
The window freezes and I have to force-close it. 802.1 option is of course enabled in the Advanced options tab. The event viewer always shows the same error when I try to create a VLAN:

I already tried to uninstall all the packages and drivers related to the network card. I deleted fantom network cards then cleaned up the registry. I tried to set some compatibility options to the given executable file, with no success. I tried to reinstall the driver with Drivers Signature disabled, tried to disable IPv4/IPv6 from the network card before trying to add a VLAN... I tried everything I found on Google.
Could someone help me, please?
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS operating system, with igb-5.3.5.4 driver. I have two I210 Ics on board.
I have programmed iNVM in both devices and
"lspci" is identifying the devices and lsmod also showing igb module with no user for it(i.e. 0)
"lshw" is also showing devices with network -UNCLAIMED.
How to bind this igb driver to i210 controllers?
The board is also having I217 controller with e1000e driver and it is working fine.
Please help me in resolving this issue
Hi,i have the following issue. i am using a workstation equipped with Intel X550-T2 card and connected both 10Gbase-T ports with a cat7 cable to switch-port 27/28. switch-port 27/28 are also 10Gbase-T capable.
only one port on the intel card will connect at full speed (10Gbps). the second port will run with 1Gbps. I tried these things:
- build up a lan-team on workstation-side in windows server 2012
- forced card- and switch-ports to 10Gbase
- build a aggregation with both switch-ports
nothing really helped. is there a compatibility problem between card and switch ?
i tried also to active and deactivate stp. i dont understand why only one port run with full speed.
i got a supermicro-mainboard based server in my office as well, two intel x550 onboard ports and the same problem occur. one port is at full speed the second port is at 100Mbps.
Hi,
We are struggling to get the JTAG chain working on WGI210.
Do we need to set some pins at a particular level before we can activate this? Is there a defined startup sequence needed for this?
Thanks in advance,
Mattias
I have use SR-IOV in my proxmox, and I was passthrough 2 virtual Function NIC card to my vm-pfsense

I have downloaded Intel NIC driver for “Intel(R) Gigabit 4P
I350-t rNDC“ NIC adapter for Windows 10 OS from below link
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22283/Intel-Ethernet-Adapters-Connections-CD?product=59679
Below are the steps I performed for driver installation
The driver does not get installed including proset software. If I
don’t pass /norestart, the driver and proset gets installed but it reboot
automatically.
I want to know how to install the driver and proset without
auto-rebooting. I will take care of rebooting the system immediately after the
driver is installed.
I have integrated Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Controller installed in my Dell Latitude E6510.
After installing updated driver from Intel and running hardware test it stopped working (displays "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" in driver details page).
Also it says that device is 82577LC (it used to be 82577LM).
I also tried deinstalling and reinstalling previous version of driver from Dell - nothing helps, even reinstall OS but it can not be solved.
Please advice.
Is there any possibility to get an 540-T2 running on Windows 10 1607?
After Driverinstallation i got an Code 10, Driver could not be startet Error.
Thanks for any Help.
Hi,
i am an IT student at a german university. Currently i am working on my bachelor´s thesis about the PTP protocol. For this reason i got a Intel network adapter I210-T1, which has support for the IEEE 1588 (=PTP) protocol.
On Linux Ubuntu works everything pretty fine. The card is working as expected. The first time i wanted to use it on Windows, my system frezzed. And still after rebooting the OS, the network card can not be used.
First of all my HW specifications:
- MB: Asus P7H55-M Pro
- CPU: Intel Core I5 650 @ 3.20GHz
- RAM: 16.0GB DDR3
- Graphic: Intel HD Graphics
- Storage: 223GB OCZ-VERTEX3 (SSD)
The SW specifications for Linux (everything is fine here):
- OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- Driver: igb-5.3.5.4
- Other: linuxptp package
And for Windows (with the issue):
- OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
- Driver: Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 7 (Version 21.1, 64-bit)
Problem:
The main problem in Windows is located in the device manager. Here it says on my adapter, that the error code 31 appeared. See the attachment. This means, that i absolutely can not use the card. The first time after installing the card, Windows tried to search and install the driver by itself. Then, as i said, the whole system frezzed. I had to power it off with the switch. After rebooting Windows, it said, that it was not able to install the driver. I tried to do that manually with the driver of the support website, but with no success. Only the error code 31 appears.
What i already have done:
- Let Windows try to install the driver by itself -> No success
- Install driver manually -> No success
- Make sure Windows Update is up to date -> No success
- Reinstall and/or update the asus driver for the motherboard (also the chipset driver etc...) -> No success
- Update BIOS to newest version -> No success
- Testing the card on an other pc -> Success
- Testing the card under Ubuntu -> Success
- Tried to execute this solution -> http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1750879/code-error-network-adapter.htm -> No success
I know that there is always the possible solution for a reinstall of Windows, but this current installed OS is actually only a month old, so pretty new. What else can i do besides this?
Thank you,
doritsep
Update
Found an old post of another forum with the exact same problem, but with no solution. -> i210 driver installation freezes Windows 7 x64 | FreeNAS Community

Dear Intel Community,
in our industrial measurement device, we have designed an embedded Ethernet card with 3 chips I350 (NH1350AM2) dual 1G Ethernet interfaces.
We have at last 6 I350 chips in each measurement device, which provide 12 Ethernet interfaces for fast video data transfer to the embedded PC-Module.
Some times, at last every 20 or 50 power cycle, the i350 losses its configuration data, and its Device-ID changes from 1521 to 151F.
The Device-ID change affects each time to both Ethernet Interfaces at the same i350 chip.
We have an EEPROM as configuration storage device connected to the i350.
The entire PCI structure in the system looks then like this:
Once, the I350 has changed its ID to 151F, I could read out the EEPROM Raw-Data by the lanconfw64e.exe, and it was look like in the next picture:
After few reboots, the lanconfw64e shows the correct Device-ID on both Ethernet interfaces at the same i350 chip:
During this try, I can see that the EEPROM is riseadable, and not corrupted.
My question is, if someone has already the same problem with Intel wired Ethernet chips, what could be the cause of this and how to avoid it ?
Additionally if the chips are configured correctly during the boot-up, I can not read the EEPROM data on every Dev-Id 1521 interfaces, getting the following error message from lanconfw64e:
So that is my second question ,what could be the cause of this error message, and how can I fix it ?
I would be very glad if someone could help me to loose this problems.
Best regards.
GregorS.

I have an I210IS device, interfacing to Broadcom BCM5461S in SGMII mode.
Currently I don't have MDIO from I210 connected to PHY, I loaded "Dev_Start_I210_Sgmii_NOMNG_16Mb_A2_3.25_0.03.bin" driver into the device flash.
The PHY is set to SGMII mode. I have signals on both RX and TX line, but no link
Any help would be appreciated
