For my old XP box, installed ref'd adapter & drivers and have since been experiencing connectivity issues. When it works it is fantastic but periodically drops connection with msg "Network cable is unplugged". By going to Device Mgr and changing any setting on the adapter, it will re-connect & everything is fine until next time. The exact model is Intel EXPI9301CTBLK Network Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps PCI-Express 1 x RJ45 (there wasn't an installation CD). The BIOS tab is asking to be flashed but I have no idea where that file might be (The Driver Update Utility has problems with XP). The downloads page on the support site has no link to an installation CD which I believe is called "Ethernet Adapters Connections CD". The one link I was able to find doesn't indicate support for this adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Programming i210 Blank Flash w/ EEUPDATE & LANConf
Greetings,
I'm following the directions from document 513655. Running EEUPDATE shows my two i210 controllers (one working, and one blank). Using both EEUPDATE & LANConf to attempt to program the blank flash results in a timeout error that occurs after 5+ minutes of the tool claiming that it is writing to flash.
LANCOnf gives the following: c86a0004 - "Timeout Error" when programming i210 blank flash
I'm using the following versions on an Intel Atom E3815 processor on Ubuntu 16.04.2
eeupdate64e: EEUPDATE v5.26.17.11
lanconfig64e: LANConf v1.26.17.11
lshw shows the driver as: driver=igb driverversion=5.3.0-k
I've tried flashing with multiple 4Mb files onto a 4Mb flash On Semi LE25U40CMC
Below is the eeupdate log:

VLAN adapter not working after reboot - Win10, 22.0.1
Following all the events at I211/I217-V Windows 10 LACP teaming fails and networking - USB to Ethernet adapter supporting multiple virtual LANs - Hardware Recommendations Stack Exchange, we now have an Ethernet driver that should properly support the Intel Advanced Networking Suite (iANS) under Windows 10.
Using Windows 10.0.14393 with all updates installed, with an I217-LM adapter and the 22.0.1 driver installed. Things seem to be very flaky. My focus here is primarily on being able to work with multiple VLANs, with no trunking at present.
First - when creating new VLANs, ensure that the "Network Connections" window or any similar windows other than the "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection * Properties" dialog are closed. Not doing so will frequently result in the operation hanging indefinitely. (I remember the same from when we had the working drivers here in Windows 7 and Windows 8 days.) Even with the other windows closed, sometimes it is taking almost 5 minutes to create a new VLAN - but it takes even longer to do so with the "Network Connections" window open (if it completes at all).
With this out of the way: Add a new VLAN10. Only once one VLAN is created can we then create the "Untagged VLAN" (ID 0). Reboot. Everything still works and comes back up as expected.
Add a 2nd tagged VLAN, say VLAN11. Reboot. The "Untagged VLAN" fails to pull a DHCP lease. The virtual adapter shows packets being sent and received. I ran Wireshark on the Untagged VLAN adapter, saw DHCPDISCOVER packets go out, and other unrelated broadcasts and packets coming back - but no DHCPOFFERs returned. I.E., it seems to be missing traffic in that state. Disable the Untagged VLAN adapter, re-enable, and it instantly comes back with a valid lease. This is constantly repeatable. Nothing is even connected to the other side of these VLANs yet (the connected switchport isn't even trunked). Remove the 2nd tagged VLAN leaving only one tagged VLAN and the untagged, and things work much better - but this kind of defeats the purpose.
Here's my ugly hack of a work-around for now: Add a Windows Scheduled Task to run at System Startup, and to run with highest privileges. Use a PowerShell similar to the following as the action:
$( Get-Date Write-Host "Starting..." ipconfig.exe /all Write-Host "Restarting..." Restart-NetAdapter -Name "Ethernet - Untagged" -Confirm:$false ipconfig.exe /all Get-Date Write-Host "Done." ) *>&1 > C:\FixIntelNetwork.log
I was worried about timing, and could add a 30 second delay or such in the startup trigger. However, the ipconfig outputs show that this wasn't necessary. In the first ipconfig output, the adapter was present and already had an auto-configured 169.254.x.y IP address. In the second ipconfig output, a proper DHCP lease was shown.
As I don't have anything on the other VLANs to test with yet, I still need to determine - but may have to reset the other VLAN interfaces at startup as well.
Receive side scaling
Hi,
I have few clarifications on the Receive side scaling (RSS) setting in a Windows 7 OS. I want to disable the RSS because it gives some performance issues, so executed the command "netsh int tcp set global rss=disabled" and when I checked at the Network adapter properties, I still see the Recieve side scaling is enabled.
1. I would like to understand the difference between setting the RSS disabled using the command and disabling the same using the Network adapter properties. (How it works, which takes priority)
2. Is there any known issues if the RSS is disabled using the command line.
please share any info on this topic.
Appreciate your help!

How to know the changeset of two different driver versions?
Hi,
For a study, I would like to know the differences between two Intel Network driver versions (example: delta changes/fixes/improvements from v18.6 and v21.1)
In the Intel websites, I don't get this information. can you please update from where can I get these information?

Intel i210 vs. i219 - Do they both support VLAN Tagging?
I am planning on getting a Asrock Rack E3C236D2I server motherboard, and the two on-board gigabit NIC's it has are the Intel i210 and the intel i219.
Just want to check both the i210 and the i219 both support VLAN tagging. Planning on using Windows Server 2016 essentials.
Also what is the difference between the i210 and the i219 Chipsets?

I210 Adapter restart triggers increased performance
I have a performance dilemma with the Windows 10 software/driver for an onboard I210 series LAN chipset. I have two ASUS motherboards, Rampage IV – 82579V and P10S WS – I210, connected to a network. The P10S WS is the server and the other is used as desktop. With just these two components connected, I get about 85-90MB/s performance from a normal boot. But, if I go into the P10S WS and change anything in the advanced configuration of the adapter, which makes the adapter restart, then my performance is 111-113MB/s (which is really good). After booting the P10S WS, I have to change something (i.e. speed from Auto to 1GB full duplex, even though it is running 1GB anyway) to get it to restart and run full speed. Any help would be appreciated. Running Intel latest drivers.
What's the difference between using X710-DA4 or XL710-QDA1
- We have been using the X710 and designers have been investing time in this card and driver
- If we wanted to look at the XL710 would it be transparent, same driver and all? or not?
Digital signature Broken on latest Intel ProSet 21.1 Drivers??
I was installing the latest drivers for my motherboard, I211 + I219-V on a fresh W10 x64, the 21.1 package.
I219-V work fine
But the new Drivers for I211 (at least, maybe others too) inside ProSet 21.1 are signed ¿Wrong? by INTELNPG1, and Windows refuse them with the classical Error 52.
ProSet 21.0, in other hands, work fine, the sign are correct. issued not by INTELNPG1, but Intel(R) Intel Network Drivers.
Not a drama, but it would be nice to install a properly signed driver to use it.
More strange, Drivers for I219-V are signed by INTELNPG1 too, and work fine (same cert)
i354 LLDP packets not received
Hi,
I have a Linux station with an Intel i354 ethernet controller. I'm trying to use LLDP for discovery between these stations, but it does not seem to work. If I use other interfaces, with different NICs, the LLDP utilities work ok. Could someone give me some hints on what might be wrong?
i210-AT magnetic-less
Hello,
I would like to use the i210-AT as part of a 1000BASE-T backplane design. I have a plug-able network switch with on-board magnetics and would like to interface to an i210-AT without adding an additional transformer.
I came across a thread that discussed this application and included the name of an application note, but i have been unable to actually find the app note or any official documentation.

Internet keeps dropping, Win10
Hi,
My internet keeps dropping every 10 minutes or so, it's a new computer with an ASRock B250M Pro4 motherboard, and a wired ethernet connection. My phone does not have any problems with the same router, neither did my previous computer.
I've read a bunch of solutions around the web, the main one is to go to Device Manager -> the network adapter -> Properties -> Power Management, and then turn off the "Allow the computer to save power" option.
This option wasn't there, and my settings looked something like this http://i.imgur.com/PBgPCSs.png which I assume is because the driver is newer than when that solution was proposed. I turned all the options in this dialog off, and it made no difference. I
I then installed several different versions of the drivers on the intel site, some with the "save power" option, and none of them stopped the issue from occurring.
What are my next steps?

L2 VM using SRIOV with 82599ES
Hi,
I am trying to run a VM that wont have an ip address but instead will work in transparent mode (like a cable). I have a PF that has 7 VFs on it and some of these VFs are part of VLAN x and some VLAN y. Here are my issues:
1. I see that the bcast traffic is sent to all VFs regardless, can I change it so that only bcast for the related VLAN arrives on th VF?
2. As the traffic that I generate has a different dest IP/MAC than my transparent VM, the VF should be in promiscuous mode. Is it enough to set "trust on" with ip link?
What I am trying to do is, to pass the traffic from VM1 to VM2 over the transparent VM.
VM1 -- TransparentVM -- VM2
Thanks,
Voltage levels are not as per the specs of I210
Hi,
We are using Intel's Atom processor with Springville I210 controller as Ethernet PHY.
The PCIe port of Atom processor is connected to Springville to convert PCIe into MDI signals which are then connected to an Ethernet PHY switch.
We are using this link at a speed of 100Mbps.
Concern here is that, the voltage levels of MDI signals which are coming out from Springville is around 5V pk-pk. This is not as per the standard specs of MDI signals.
Can any one please suggest if any settings has to made to correct this,
