I have some problems regarding the WG82574 PCIe Gigabit Ethernet controller. I used it according to its sample schematics. However, it could not be recognized on PCIe bus. It should be added that the EEPROM connected to this IC have not programmed yet. However, I expected that the IC should be recognized without using the EEPROM. The schematic of this IC in my design is attached.

I219-LM & Certified drivers for Windows 10?

$

Purchased in december the newly released asus workstation motherboard Z170-WS that included one I210 adapter and one I219-LM.

I was expecting to use ANS Teaming and VLAN features (still waiting on update drivers to fix these features generally on Win10)
But i don't see the I219-LM listed as supported for the Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10, and searching on I219-LM it only list with drivers with OS Independent.

Will we that have purchased newly workstation motherboards with dual internet adapters in this case I210 and I219 not being able to use ANS features and VLAN on both connections?
Or is only missing due to being a new model?

Configure VLAN on desktop using intel server network adapter

I have an old Intel pro/1000 PT quad port installed in my desktop computer Windows 8.1 Pro. All ports works great, but i want to manage VLAN. I've read that was possible with Vista, but became impossible since built-in Microsoft drivers.

I tried to cheat, forcing install driver as Intel I210-T1 Gbe (from NDIS64) and after install PROWinx64 for Intel Advanced Network Services work without error.

The NIC with "bad driver" works good. In properties of the hardware, i can see the VLAN tab. I can create a new VLAN (a virtual NIC will be created). I can configure IPv4 of this virtual NIC. But when I enable this NIC nothing happened, stay disabled.

Any ideas ? Thank you.

x710 disconnects with offloading enabled

Hello,

I have several 2012 R2 systems with x710 NICs that blue screen and get network disconnects in the event logs when we have offloading turned on. If we disable offloading, the system is stable. We've tried the Dell version of the drivers, as well as the Intel drivers (v20.7). It appears to be very similar to the issue in the thread x710-DA2 iSCSI Connections Keep Disconnecting .

Is anyone else having problems with offloading on these NICs?

Host OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Hypervisor: Xen 4.6.0

Kernel version: 4.4.0-22-generic

Driver version: i40e-1.5.18

NVM version: 5.02

Guest OS: Windows Server 2012 R2

Guest Driver version: 20.7.1

I'm trying to forward the ports of the card to a guest Windows VM.  An example of forwarding just one port:

# echo 1 > /sys/class/net/ens2f0/device/sriov_numvfs

# /sbin/ip link set ens2f0 vf 0 mac 02:00:00:00:00:00

# xl pci-assignable-add 02:02.0

Added to Xen VM .cfg:

pci = ['0000:02:02.0']

All of that works and the VM starts fine and sees the card.  Xen reports that it added it:

I210 Flash map issue

Hi Sir,

Some I210 flash maps have three types offsets, Flash Word Offsets, Global MNG Offset & Offset. What meanings are for them?

For example: SMBus 0 slave address  Flash Word Offsets: 0x51, Global MNG Offset: 0x06, Offset: 0x03, Bit[7:1]

what is real flash address? How to check this value by Intel Lanconf View Flash tool?

Please kindly help it. thanks!

Accessing hardware timestamps with SR-IOV

$

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to get access to hardware timestamping on the NIC if you using SR-IOV virtualization.

Currently in a non-virtualized environment, I can configure HW timestamping by passing hwtstamp_config structure to ioctl().  However, when I do the same operation in a Xen based VM which uses SR-IOV (and Intel 82599 NIC) the same operation failed (I am getting Operation not supported message after calling ioctl()).

Reading the documentation on SR-IOV I couldn't figure out if accessing HW timestamps on a NIC is fundamentally not possible, or I just missing some configuration (such as Virtual Function for NIC).

Thank you

Intel network driver interfering with audio

$

Hi,

I'm having one of the strangest audio problems I've ever seen on my PC right now, which seems to be linked to my internet connection (of all things), which uses an intel network driver.

First off I'm the sort of PC user that likes to leave the system on 24/7 and power off the displays when not in use, as this allows me to run certain background tasks (like automated file backups) overnight.

After leaving my system running for a few days I started to notice an erratic popping noise in my audio, a bit like static, but not as consistent. After doing some research online, I learned about something called DPC latency and used a program called 'DPC Latency Monitor' to try and diagnose the problem.

The data I collected pointed to my Intel network driver as a possible culprit for my audio issues, so I tried disabling the corresponding network adapter from the network and sharing center, and re-ran the latency test. The results with the network adapter disabled were greatly improved, and I could no longer hear the popping noises when listening to offline audio.

As soon as I re-enable the network adapter the problem returns, and so far the only solution I have is to randomly reboot my system, which I find rather inconvenient, as it also requires me to save all data in all open programs, exit out of everything, and then open it all back up again later.

I've already used Intel's driver update utility to ensure I'm on the latest drivers, and am unsure of what to do next.

The following is a compilation of the data I collected while trying to figure things out:

DPC latency monitor data, with network adapter enabled and before a system reboot:

With network adapter disabled and before reboot:

i218-LM "this device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I have a problem very similar or identical to that experienced by nh29 here
i218-LM code 10 after restart without cable

Since purchasing my Let's Note laptop PC CF-LX3 I have been unable to connect to wired land only wifi.

I eventually got around to having a look in the device manager (I had thought that the problem must be mine since I had the problem from new)

In the device manager the driver for my Ethernet Chip has the yellow triangle and exclamation mark.

i am told that I have a can't start due to  Code 10.

I have tried installing your latest drivers from your site

Download Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows 8.1*

and installing them by first extracting them using 7-Zip and browsing to the 64 bit drivers using the method described on reddit here

ethernet driver issue : techsupport

I also tried letting the Device manage find drivers on the Internet (which told me that I had the most up to date drivers installed)

Add I also downloaded the Win81_64_d135311 file from my computer manufacturers site here in Japan

Let's note CF-LX3シリーズ 導入済みドライバー | パナソニック パソコンサポート

In all cases I am told that the driver installed but the the device can not be started

the driver was installed but

"this device cannot start. (Code 10)"

In all cases I uninstalled and deleted the previous drivers first.

Like nh29 I have a degree in electronic engineering (thought I am not chartered) .

On nh29's thread it was suggested that this has something to do with the Ultra Low Power settings. I am not sure how to turn these off.  You send a tool to nh29 apparently after which he did not respond to the thread above so perhaps that cured things for him.

I see that in the Power Plan settings there are Intel CPPC Energy Efficient Optimization but in both they are now set to Plugged in Disabled, and Aggressiveness when plugged in at 0%

(I could have sworn that earlier today these settings were different! Perhaps one of the more recent drivers that I installed changed the settings).

My system is Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit Japanese (GUI language English)

The device manager says

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

In the advanced settings

Wake on Link is Off

and (aha) "Low power Ethernet" was on. I set it to off and disabled, then re-enabled the device but it still says Code 10.

The other thing that surprises me is that under driver details the files are in the Windows sub folder "System32" is that as it should be?

C\windows\system32\Drivers\e1d64x64.sys

and the following three files in the same location

e1dmsg.dll

NicCo36.dll (this is the oldest file in system32)

NicINstD.dll

According to the page below the first file e1d64x64.sys is an Intel "Gigabit" driver (sounds right)

What is e1d64x64.sys from Intel Corporation? (id:21427853)

And the version number of the driver in my Device manager is the same as that mentioned on the page above

12.9.16.0

I tried using the 20.7 UEFI Ethernet Driver E7006X3.EFI, but I see that I217 support has been removed.  Why?

I need I217-LM support in this driver.

Going back I see the last time it was in the Driver was version 20.0, E6604X3.EFI.

Can I217 support please be added back into future builds?

40 sec negotiation with X540-T1 with Cisco Nexus 3172TQ

Hi,

Have a client experiencing the following issue - when they boot or reboot a workstation, the LAN adapter takes 40+ seconds to negotiate with the LAN switch before it connects.

Details:

Workstations are Windows 7 Pro with Intel Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X540-T1 running SSD drives. So they boot within seconds, and when the users go to sign on, system connects before network is available, thus network maps are not completed, etc. Once the system negotiates the link and is online, a log off / log on cycle works properly. (And the users tend to forget between system reboots that they need to be patient. Thus wasted support calls troubleshooting.)

Switch is Cisco Nexus 3172TQ (48 port 10GBase-T)

Cisco firmware has been patched recently.

Any suggestions on what to focus on / investigate in depth? Opening a case with Cisco as well. Will also look for Cisco commands etc.

Thanks

WGI210IT Device ID issue

Hi,

We are using WGI210IT Ethernet controller for Ethernet application using PCIe Interface.

The WGI210IT is interfaced to i.Mx6Q through PCIe signals.

When we give the "lspci" Command in the Linux command window we are getting the following :

01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Device 1531 (rev 03)

Here the Device ID 1531 refers to 0x1531 - I210 with a blank Flash (tools only, not for driver) as per the Datasheet.

Is it referring that the I210 Device is blank or the Flash device attached to the I210 is Blank ?

Please help us with reply ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

I211/I217-V Windows 10 LACP teaming fails

$

Hello,

after the update to Windows 10 (x64, Build 10240) the creation of a teaming group (static or IEEE802.3ad) with a I211+I217-V NIC fails.

Drivers have been upgraded to the latest version available and multiple reinstallations with reboots din't help either. Whenever the group creation wizzard is used and a groupname (several tried), the adapters and LACP have been selected, a Windows pop-up appears to tell me group creation has failed.

However the Windows Device Manager shows a newly created "Intel Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter", so some kind of configuration seems to get done.

Using Windows 7 SP1 x64 the exact same setup worked flawlessly for months, so Win10/the driver are the likely culprit.

Is anyone experiencing similar problems and/or is this a known bug? Feedback on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Hi,

we just bought some new Dell Poweredge R730 with Intel Ethernet 10G 4P X540/I350 Network Adapter for using them Hyper-V 2012 R2.

According to this document it's possible to create a VLMB Team with Intel ANS Teaming and enable VMDq, so Hyper-V will make use of VMQ.

I installed the latest version of Intel PROSet, created a VMLB Team with Intel ANS and enabled virtual machine Queues:
