i219-v limit to 10mbps

$

Hello,

I've installed a new PC with Windows 10 Prox64 on M/B Gigabyte H170M-D3H. The ethernet adapter is intel ethernet connection i219-v. Current drivers are 12.15.23.1. The problem appeared with previous version of drivers also.

The problem is that my internet is now limited to 10mbps, when my true speed suppose to be 100mbps. My previous PC was connected to the same LAN socket with the same cable and with speed 100mbps.

  • I've tried to connect the cable to laptop, and it also has 100mbps, so the problem is nor the router, neither the cable.
  • I've tried to manually set Duplex&Speed to 100mbps Full and Half - with both options the negotiations fails and appears "cable disconnected'.
  • Auto-negotiation make the speed be 10mbps.
  • I've set in BIOS the speed to 100mbps Full - didn't help.
  • I've tried to disable/enable the device.

All my attempts failed and I can't speed up to 100mbps.

Please help!

Thank you.

Sudden issue with 82579V on ASUS P8P67-D

Hello, I hope this is the right place for this, my apologies if not.

A few days ago my internet connection began to fail by beginning a loop of: Network cable unplugged, Enabled, Identifying..

I initially thought the ISP was at fault but since my motherboard has two NIC's (Intel 82579V and Realtek 8111E) I tried plugging the RJ45 cable into the second port. It began to work again.

So far this is what I've observed:

- The connection through Intel 82579V is stuck in the unplugged, enabled, identifying loop.

- Setting line speed to 10Mbps full duplex on 82579V will stop the loop, but run only at 10% line speed (my internet speed is 100Mbps).

- The drivers ASUS provides on its website do not work: The installer claims "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer."

- The latest driver from Intel does work, partially. Properties window in device manager takes suspiciously long to show up, no loop at 100mbps full duplex but the line is very unstable. Speedtest shows fluctuations from 15Mbps to 80Mbps.

- Rolling back to the original Intel drivers brings the problem back.

- Running on the Realtek 8111E provides a constant, stable 94Mbps on auto negotiated 100Mbps full duplex.

- 82579V still shows lights when cable plugged in.

- Device Manager reports no issues.

- Attempted to test connection with a "try-it" version of Ubuntu, both NIC's work however neither were able to access Speedtest or any website claiming to measure internet speed.

Any help with this issue?

i210 bridging interface problem

Hi,

I am developer on Linux system.  I have develop network tunnel with bridging interface.  I found problem in throughput performance.  It looks like serial packet.  From bandwidth monitoring, i can see packet flow from eth0 to eth1 as serialize not pararell. It need traffic from eth0 down to lowest then eth1 raise the traffic forward.

How can i fix this problem? I have been looking in Interrupt Throttle Rate (ITR) from your guide in "Tuning Throughput Performance for Intel® Ethernet Adapters".  But it does not any effect.

Thank you,

I219-V and Windows Server 2012 / 2016

Does the latest Intel driver for I219-V support Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016?

I have an Intel NUC6i5SYH with I219-V gigabit Ethernet and discovered that the Intel Ethernet driver installs and runs with Windows 10, but not with Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 OS.  In looking for Intel Ethernet drivers on the downloadcenter.intel.com website, I found driver package 21.0 that lists support for both I219-LM and I219-V, but actual driver installation testing indicates that for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 OS, the e1d65x64.sys driver only installs against I219-LM but not I219-V.

Will Intel please clarify the support position of your Ethernet drivers for I219-V and Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016.  If the drivers have no support for this HW/OS combination then a correction is in order for the downloadcenter.intel.com website, as the information on it currently is misleading.

Ethernet AVB setup

Hi,

I am trying to create an Ethernet AVB demo setup with the following configuration:

1. Talker running in a PC, with i210 - source code taken from Open AVB in Github - Linux 14.04

2. Listener running in a PC with Intel 82579 LM based Network Controller - Linux 16.04

I am able to build the code for talker and listener and talker application is running.

The listener application terminates after receiving a few packets from talker. It seems the driver used in listener is not AVB compatible. We used the e1000e driver, since we found that the intel card used in the listener supports IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 802.1Qav protocols which are the bare minimum support needed in a listener.

Can anybody help me to resolve the issue? Should I get another driver or is the network card not expected to work in AVB?

thank you,

Radhika.

How to enable JTAG port on i210?

Hi,

We are struggling to get the JTAG chain working on WGI210.

Do we need to set some pins at a particular level before we can activate this? Is there a defined startup sequence needed for this?

Thanks in advance,

Latest driver for 82583V not installing

Hi,

I tried to do the latest driver update for the Intel 82583V Gigabit Ethernet controller (version 21.1 date 10/11/2016), but after the update I checked the driver and it displayed version 12.7.28.0 dated 5/26/2015.

Before the installation I was running driver version 11.4.7.0 so I know it did update my driver but I do not understand why it did not update to the latest version available on the Intel website. Any insights?

Thanks.

Network not working with Centos 7 install and e1000e driver

I have a fresh install of centos 7 on an asrock z97 extreme4 motherboard and I am having major networking issues. When I first start the network the connection is fast and works great but only after thirty seconds to a minute the network slows down so much it stops working and it slows down all connected devices. The driver I am using is the e1000e. I have tried multiple different versions with the same issue. Is there some kind of custom tuning I need to do on this driver?

P.S. I have the exact same OS version and Kernel installed on a Toshiba laptop and the ethernet works great, the only difference is the hardware and drive so I know that the driver is the issue.

I211/I217-V Windows 10 LACP teaming fails

$

Hello,

after the update to Windows 10 (x64, Build 10240) the creation of a teaming group (static or IEEE802.3ad) with a I211+I217-V NIC fails.

Drivers have been upgraded to the latest version available and multiple reinstallations with reboots din't help either. Whenever the group creation wizzard is used and a groupname (several tried), the adapters and LACP have been selected, a Windows pop-up appears to tell me group creation has failed.

However the Windows Device Manager shows a newly created "Intel Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter", so some kind of configuration seems to get done.

Using Windows 7 SP1 x64 the exact same setup worked flawlessly for months, so Win10/the driver are the likely culprit.

Is anyone experiencing similar problems and/or is this a known bug? Feedback on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Famaku

I210 TX/RX hang

Hi,

I'm using the I210 with 3.14.26-rt22 kernel and igb driver 5.2.15.

During a stress test, after ~10-15 hours I receive NETDEV WATCHDOG timeout.

It seems that the RX FIFO had overrun scenario, but it can't recover from it, no further receive/transmit interrupt is asserted after the overrun scenario, it seems that RX/TX unit hangs.

Bringing down/up the network interface, doesn't recover from this problematic scenario, only power-up to the board (TI AM5728).

Attached is information retrieved after the timeout.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Adi
